Methodology

How we evaluate casinos.

Methodology is how we research, structure, and maintain casino coverage — our editorial process, data rules, and quality bar. It complements How We Score, where we document the exact mathematical definition of Trust Score, Trust Radar, and Confidence.

What we publish

Each casino profile is built around:

Structured facts — licence, payments, limits, RTP where available, support channels, and other fields we store as discrete data points with a status (e.g. verified vs estimated).
Editorial judgement (Trust Radar) — five 0–10 axes that summarise how the operator behaves on payouts, fairness signals, stability, complaint handling, and KYC friction. These are set by our team using the same evidence base as the review, not by a single third-party number.
Narrative review — pros, cons, and context that explain why scores look the way they do.
Geo and compliance context — where the brand is restricted or blocked, we surface that so readers can see availability, not only marketing claims.

How evaluation works (process)

A transparent, repeatable process from research to published scores.

1 Discovery & baseline
We collect the operator’s official pages, terms, regulatory registers, and complaint patterns to build a baseline.
2 Fact entry
Our team records facts in our database. Verified items carry more weight; estimated fields are clearly marked.
3 Radar scoring
Editors assess the operator on five radar axes using written guidelines and a shared evidence base.
4 Score & confidence
We compute the Trust Score and Confidence from structured data, radar scores, payout performance, complaint history, and restriction signals. See How We Score for the exact formulas.
5 Updates
Material changes, new licences, policy updates, complaints, or restrictions trigger a review. Profiles are updated and high-impact items are re-checked proactively.

Tools vs core scores

Our on-site tools help you explore and filter casinos, but they do not change the underlying scores. Core scores are determined by our methodology, independent of any tool settings.

Product filter

Shows casinos available for your selected product and country.

Trust Score bands

Lets you browse by score range (e.g. 80–100, 60–79, 40–59, 0–39).

Editorial risk level

Highlights our editorial risk view (Low, Medium, High).

Blacklisted operators

Casinos we place in our blacklist category are still documented where policy requires transparency, but we do not link out to their websites from our UI. That is a safety and editorial policy choice on top of scoring.

Independence & limits

We may use affiliate relationships where disclosed on relevant pages; scores and Radar are designed to be driven by the same structured data and editorial criteria regardless of commercial ties. We do not guarantee completeness of third-party data; readers should always check local law and operator terms before playing.
